Forum on the Middle East was born out of a desire to bring together a vast international network of experts and decision-makers in contact with the collaborators of Geostrategy Analyses. Its purpose is to formalize the exchange of ideas, feedback, and practices in the fields of strategic, geopolitical, and social analysis, as well as crisis and conflict resolution, support for change, and the implementation of transitional processes. The echoes of the debates and work carried out by the various members and groups within the network are reflected on our website through regular article publications, as well as the announcement—and sometimes the reporting—of events.
More than just a think tank, Forum on the Middle East is an operationally oriented platform, organizing or co-organizing conferences, producing publications, and supporting the implementation of various research programs while maintaining an efficient international network of partners. Forum on the Middle East has established a scientific council composed of experts from academia, civil society, the business world, senior public service, and political circles. As a consultative body, the Council collectively guides research directions and validates projects.
The Director of the Forum on the Middle East and President of its Scientific Council is Hosham Dawod, anthropologist, researcher at the CNRS (IIAC), and research associate at Geostrategy Analyses. He is an internationally recognized authority on the analysis of social, political, and strategic situations in Iraq and across the Middle East region. A field researcher, he also contributes to knowledge dissemination by participating in numerous international conferences, organizing international seminars, and producing audiovisual programs and documentaries.
